Okay to put a patch over embroidery on a backpack?

I purchased a high quality backpack at a good price. Unfortunately, the backpack has a small Volkswagen symbol (the VW symbol) embroidered on the front pocket of the backpack. Is it okay to put a patch (I got a round patch with my initial on it) over the embroidery part and use some mega strong fabric glue to mend (like Fabri Tac)? Will that work? Thank you experts!
